Thanks to its high efficiency, the Sonnenglas Mini provides 24 hours of pleasant, warm light after each full charge. With the new fast-charging function, it is able to provide light for ten whole hours after charging for just 90 minutes. The solar glass also stores solar energy during the day, which it emits again in the dark in the form of soft light. As soon as the surroundings are light enough, the light automatically switches off. This saves the battery and conserves energy. Intelligent day/night automatic: The Sonnenglas switches itself on in the evening and then in the morning, when it is light enough, it automatically switches itself off again. Thanks to the new high-tech coating, it is robust and even waterproof.
About the manufacturer
In 2010, manufacturing companies Suntoy and Consol from Johannesburg tasked South African electrical engineer and photovoltaic expert Harald Schulz with developing a solar lamp using established and nationally renowned preserving jars. The aim was to produce a reading lamp and safe light sources as the oil lamps and candles being used up to that point in the South African settlements were resulting in an increasing number of major fires. In South Africa, solar glass is already a high-quality and durable cult object. It also maintains funding to finance the further education of the workers in Maths and English.
