How to use your eSIM.
To use this service, you will need an eSIM-enabled smartphone, which is not locked to a mobile provider. You can find a list of compatible models in the frequently asked questions section, under category eSIM.
If you are using our eSIM for the first time.
After purchase on our webshop, you will receive an e-mail containing your unique QR code. This QR code can then be scanned in the “My Truphone” app (available to download via iOS or Android app stores).
The app will ask you to share your location. If you are in Switzerland you will see an option to scan your QR code. If you are not currently in Switzerland, please select Switzerland from the ‘Select Destination’ drop down menu in order to scan your QR code.
After scanning the QR code, your data plan will be displayed. Follow the steps to download your eSIM to your device. If you are unable to scan the QR code, select ‘Enter Manually’ and enter the 6 character ‘Code’ contained at the top of this email.
On your first installation only, you will be asked to go through an identity verification process, as required by Swiss telecommunications regulation.
The eSIM will work as a secondary SIM in parallel to your existing SIM, and you will see two networks displayed on your device. You can switch data usage between the SIMs at any time via the settings menu on your device (eg. iPhones Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data).
Adding data to your existing eSIM.
When purchasing further plans on our webshop, please select “Existing eSIM” and enter your ICCID code (shown at the top of this email) into the relevant field.
This ensures that further data plans will automatically be added to your existing eSIM which is important for correct operation. Please keep a record of your ICCID code for this purpose.
